Where risk enters

A programme shaped around a working food facility

A flour mill, beverage plant, bakery and chilled-food facility do not have the same pest pressure. We begin with the material flow, building condition and site requirements rather than a generic spray schedule.

Goods-in and loading bays

Open doors, incoming pallets and packaging can carry activity into storage. Stored-product insects may arrive inside ingredients or packs; our stored-product pest FAQs explain the common warning signs. We inspect access points, receiving practices and evidence on arriving stock.

Production and packing

Food, moisture, drains and service penetrations can attract or shelter pests. Monitoring and control are planned around hygiene rules and production access.

Finished-goods storage

High racking and long-held stock can hide activity. Device checks, proofing and stock movement records help locate a problem before dispatch. For storage-led sites, see our warehouse pest-prevention guide.

Service method

How the food-site programme works

Integrated Pest Management combines prevention, monitoring and targeted treatment. Visit frequency, devices and methods follow the survey and the facility’s own controls.

Survey and identify

Inspect the perimeter, goods-in, production support areas, stores, drains and waste points. Identify the pest before choosing a method.

Map and agree the plan

Number monitoring points. Agree action levels, responsibilities and visit timing with the quality and production teams.

Monitor, escalate and treat

Log activity by device and zone. Investigate changes, trace likely sources and agree targeted work before it affects production.

Document and verify closure

Record materials and methods used, access or re-entry instructions where relevant, corrective-action owners and evidence of closure.

Contract and AMC

A food-site contract that keeps the work and records current

A working food factory normally needs an ongoing programme, not a repeated general spray or an automatic monthly fumigation. The written pest-control contract defines the zones, monitoring points, visit schedule, escalation route, reporting pack and responsibility for proofing or hygiene actions.

Monthly technical programme

A common starting point for lower-risk, well-sealed sites. Monitoring continues between visits through the site team and agreed reporting route.

Weekly or fortnightly service

Useful where goods-in volume, open product, older construction or previous activity justifies more frequent inspection.

Daily deputised staff

Named, uniformed people with a supervisor and a documented escalation route for suitable large facilities, backed by scheduled technical visits and cover arrangements.

Some procurement teams call a twelve-month contract an AMC. Pest Orbit responds to both terms, but the frequency and scope come from the documented risk assessment rather than the label. For tender questions, use the pest-control contract FAQs.

IPMS live reporting

Give QA one current pest-control record

The IPMS live portal keeps service history, device findings and corrective actions together. The exact fields and access level are agreed in the contract, so your team knows what will be recorded before work begins.

Karachi first · coordinated regional delivery

Karachi-led food-factory support across Sindh and Pakistan

The programme is designed from the facility, not from a city template. Karachi is the main operating focus for this page. Interior Sindh work is planned by route and site risk; other Pakistan locations are scheduled through the relevant regional team.

Main focus

Karachi industrial belt

SITE, Korangi, Landhi, North Karachi, Port Qasim and Bin Qasim. The plan follows each facility’s doors, drains, goods flow, operating hours and monitoring evidence. See the Karachi service hub.

Planned Sindh routes

Interior Sindh

Nooriabad, Hyderabad and Kotri, Sukkur, Ghotki and other agreed industrial routes. Survey timing and attendance are confirmed against site risk, access and the service schedule.

Regional teams

Wider Pakistan

Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, plus relevant industrial locations. Same-day or next-day mobilisation may be arranged for Multan, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur when confirmed at booking.

Planning through the year

A Karachi food-site pest calendar

This is a planning guide, not a trap-count forecast. Pakistan Meteorological Department material describes Karachi as coastal, humid through the year, with a long hot period and most rain in July and August. Those conditions can change pressure around drains, waste areas, loading bays and the building perimeter, but your own monitoring data must set the response.

March–MayDrain, waste and loading-bay insect findings as the long hot season develops.Clear breeding sources and repair screens, door seals or service gaps before monsoon rain.
June–SeptemberStanding water, fly-monitor readings, drainage and goods-in activity after rain.Review cleaning, water removal and monitoring with the quality team after weather events.
October–FebruaryRodent evidence around dock doors, stores, utilities and perimeter gaps.Review proofing priorities and the external station map before pressure moves indoors.

Start at the right depth

Use a risk assessment before fixing the contract scope

A short assessment can identify the likely service level. A full assessment is better for an audit, tender or multi-zone factory. For Karachi food plants, an on-site survey remains the strongest basis for device placement and pricing.

Straight answers

Food-factory pest-control questions

What happens when a monitor shows rising pest activity?

The finding is recorded by device and zone. The team investigates the likely source, agrees an action with your quality lead and checks the result at the next visit or sooner if the risk calls for it.

Will treatment be applied beside an open food line?

Any treatment location, access restriction and timing must be agreed with your production and quality teams. Open food and food-contact areas are protected; monitoring, proofing and suitable targeted methods are preferred where they fit the finding.

Does a food factory need fumigation every month?

No. Fumigation is a specific method, not a default monthly service. The pest species, commodity, enclosure, monitoring result and written risk assessment determine whether it is suitable.

What records will our QA team receive?

The agreed programme can include a numbered device map, dated reports, trend notes, material and safety information, action levels and corrective-action records. The exact pack is listed in the written scope.

Can Pest Orbit support HACCP, BRCGS, FSSC 22000, AIB or GMP audits?

Pest Orbit can prepare and maintain the pest-control evidence relevant to the client’s programme and attend the pest-management part of an audit when included in the contract. These certifications belong to the food business; Pest Orbit does not claim to hold them.

What does Sindh Food Authority expect about pest control?

Sindh Food Authority’s published SOP material says food premises should be free from pest contamination and use an integrated pest-management system with records. The exact requirements for your facility remain the responsibility of the food business and the relevant authority.

Do you offer an AMC for food factories in Karachi?

Yes. A twelve-month contract may be described as an AMC in procurement documents. The visit frequency, device plan, reporting, emergency response and deputation needs are defined after the survey.

Which Karachi industrial areas can you survey?

Pest Orbit can plan food-factory service across SITE, Korangi, Landhi, North Karachi, Port Qasim and Bin Qasim, subject to the facility survey and agreed schedule.
