PHOSPHINE PH₃ FUMIGATIONTHRESHOLD-BASED IPMEXPORT COMPLIANCE

In short: In an industrial facility the cost of pests is measured in failed audits, rejected consignments and lost production — not in the treatment fee. PestOrbit runs threshold-based IPM and certified phosphine fumigation for factories, food plants, warehouses, cold storage and silos across Pakistan, with the trend analysis, device maps and entomologist sign-off that AIB, BRC, HACCP and GMP auditors require.

The real cost of pests in an industrial facility

Stored-product pests can destroy a significant share of a grain stockpile before anyone opens a bag. A single rodent finding during an AIB or BRC audit can move a site from certified to conditional, and export consignments can be rejected on phytosanitary grounds. For FMCG, food processing and textile exporters in Pakistan, pest management is a trade-compliance function.

Industrial sites are also structurally harder: wide dock doors that stay open, external walls adjoining open ground, high-bay racking that cannot be moved, and 24-hour operations that leave no downtime for treatment.

Programme components

Component Detail
Phosphine fumigation Sealed fumigation of silos, flour mills, bulk storage and containers with pre- and post-treatment gas concentration monitoring
Threshold-based IPM Continuous monitoring with written action levels per zone; treatment triggered by data
Rodent perimeter control External bait stations and internal monitors, numbered and mapped, with proofing recommendations
Insect monitoring Light traps and pheromone monitors for stored-product pests, with counts trended per unit
Audit documentation Device map, dated reports, trend analysis, corrective-action log, approved chemical list and SDS
Zero-disruption scheduling Treatments during planned shutdowns or shift changes to protect production
Entomologist oversight Programme design and sign-off by a Ph.D. entomologist

Facilities we protect

  • Food processing plants — raw intake, processing, packing and finished-goods zones treated to different standards
  • Flour mills & silos — certified phosphine fumigation with gas monitoring records
  • Warehouses & 3PL — high-bay racking, dock doors, perimeter defence
  • Cold storage — low-temperature-appropriate methods and condensation/mould control
  • Pharmaceutical & GxP plants — validated, low-residue protocols for clean zones
  • Textile & packaging — fibre pests, rodent gnaw damage and stock protection
  • Oil, gas & energy — HSE-compliant programmes in high-hazard environments

Offices and branch networks are covered on our corporate page; restaurants and retail on our commercial page.

Audit readiness — what we supply

Auditors rarely fail a site for having pests; they fail it for being unable to prove the programme is under control. Every PestOrbit industrial programme produces the seven documents auditors ask for first — device map, service records, trend analysis, written action levels, corrective-action log, chemical approvals and technician competency evidence. Our IPMS portal makes eighteen months of trend data retrievable in seconds.

Frequently asked questions

What is phosphine fumigation and when is it needed?

Phosphine (aluminium phosphide) fumigation releases a gas that penetrates bulk commodities and eliminates every life stage of stored-product pests, including eggs that surface treatments cannot reach. It is used for grain in silos, flour mills, bulk warehouses and export containers, and requires a properly sealed enclosure with gas concentration monitoring.

Will fumigation stop our production?

It is scheduled around you. Fumigation is normally carried out during planned shutdowns, weekends or shift changes, and the area is cleared and ventilated to safe levels before re-entry, with clearance readings recorded.

Do you provide AIB and BRC documentation?

Yes. Programmes include a numbered site device map, dated service reports, trend analysis, written action levels, a corrective-action log, an approved chemical list with safety data sheets, and Ph.D. entomologist sign-off — the evidence set AIB, BRC, HACCP and GMP auditors request.

How often should an industrial site be serviced?

Monthly is the common baseline for food manufacturing, with higher-risk sites moving to fortnightly or weekly. The interval should be justified by a documented risk assessment, because auditors will ask why yours is what it is.

Can you support export consignments?

Yes. We provide fumigation and supply-chain pest risk documentation for export compliance, including container fumigation and treatment certification.
